Porcelain Veneers

Visit our Columbus dental office for a beautiful new smile with porcelain veneers

Dental veneers are thin shells bonded to the tooth’s surface. If you have teeth discolored by tetracycline, injury, or root canal, or if your front teeth have gaps, your dentists at Lifetime Dental Health may recommend porcelain veneers.

Veneers are ideal for teeth that are:

  • Discolored or stained
  • Crooked
  • Irregularly shaped
  • Gapped
  • Broken
  • Chipped
  • Eroded

Veneers can be shaped and colored to match your natural teeth. They’re also resistant to stains from coffee, tea, or smoking.

What to expect

There are multiple steps in the process of fitting you with immaculate veneers.  First, Drs. Barry and Love will provide a diagnosis and treatment plan, then they will prepare your teeth and finally they will complete your new look by bonding the veneers to your teeth.

During diagnosis and treatment planning, your dentist will ask you about your goals and expectations. Your dentist will also discuss the limitations and risks of the procedure and whether it is really the best solution for your specific issue.

After the planning stage, your next dental appointment prepares your teeth for veneers. Your teeth will be lightly buffed, and a mold of your teeth will be taken. Finally, your dentist attaches the veneer to the tooth.

Taking Care of Veneers

Veneers typically last for many years. Your Columbus dentist will tell you how to care for your new restoration and how to keep your mouth healthy for life.

The LUMINEERS Difference

While traditional veneers involve a much longer, and sometimes more painful process, LUMINEERS placement is quick and painless.

downloadWith traditional veneers, temporary crowns are placed on the teeth while the final veneers are made. The temporaries are then removed, potentially requiring numbing, and the permanent veneers are placed. Sometimes additional appointments are required to ensure that the veneers fit and your bite is correct.

In contrast to traditional veneers, LUMINEERS don’t require shots or drilling of sensitive tooth structure. LUMINEERS are ultra-thin and can be applied seamlessly over your existing teeth in only two easy visits!
