Whiten your teeth safely & effectively at Lifetime Dental Health
Teeth whitening isn’t just for celebrities. You too can have a radiant smile thanks to teeth bleaching.
Whiter teeth is recommended for people whose teeth have darkened from age or have discolored by tobacco or stain-promoting foods and drinks. Stained teeth that have yellow, orange, or brown hues typically respond better to bleaching. Discoloration caused by smoking, fluorosis, tetracycline and other gray stains can also be lightened, but the results are not as dramatic.
A dentist-supervised teeth whitening is the safest and most effective method to bleach teeth.
If done properly, teeth whitening has a 90% percent success rate. The effects can also last up to five years, depending on your oral care and lifestyle habits.
Teeth bleaching is not for everyone, however. If you have periodontal disease, very sensitive teeth, or eroded enamel, Dr. Barry or Dr. Love may discourage teeth whitening. Come in for a consultation today so your Columbus dentist can determine if you are a good candidate.
In-Office & At-Home Teeth Whitening
In addition to in-office teeth whitening, we offer dentist-supervised at-home teeth whitening. Teeth impressions will be taken to create a custom mouth guard or tray containing bleaching agents. The trays are lightweight and can be worn comfortably while you are awake or asleep. Each custom tray is very thin—you can talk normally while wearing them.
Some teeth whitening systems work best if used two to four hours a day. This system typically requires three to six weeks to complete and works best on patients with sensitive teeth. Other systems recommend bleaching at night while you sleep and usually requires only 10-14 days to complete.
